Ikeja, Lagos state - Mudashiru Obasa, the ousted Speaker the Lagos State House of Assembly stormed the complex with armed police officers.
It was gathered that Obasa allegedly attempt to resume duty on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

As reported by Vanguard, sources said Obasa arrived at the Assembly around 11:30 AM, accompanied by heavily armed police officers and civil defence personnel.
The development has thrown the Assembly into disarray, especially as the incumbent Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, was reportedly absent from the scene.
Reports iindicate that the doors to the Speaker’s office have been forcibly opened. The Lagos Assembly is currently on an indefinite recess.
According to The Punch, the Chief Press Secretary to Meranda, Segun Ajiboye, confirmed the latest in a short message.
Ajiboye accused Obasa and his team of allegedly breaking into the office.
Recall that that members of the Lagos state House of Assembly took strong action against Obasa in January 2025.

The 32 members of the assembly impeached Obasa amid allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement against him.
In a swift move, the lawmakers elected the deputy speaker of the assembly, Hon. Mojisola Miranda, as Obasa's replacement.
Legit.ng earlier reported that all police escorts assigned to Speaker Meranda and the Lagos State Assembly complex have been abruptly removed, raising serious safety concerns.
The Speaker’s adviser confirmed that she is now without protection, warning that the situation leaves her exposed to potential threats.
No official explanation has been given for the withdrawal, fueling public anxiety over government security protocols and potential risks to officials.
As exclusively gathered by Legit.ng, many members of the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC) are opposed to the emergence of David Setonji as the speaker in the event Meranda is forced to step down.
A top source with a strong connection to the Lagos state house of assembly informed Legit.ng that there is still pressure on Meranda to step down.
Police restore Obasa's security details
Legit.ng also reported that the political crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly took another twist as security details assigned to Obasa, the impeached Speaker, have been restored.
At the same time, the security personnel attached to his successor, Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, have been withdrawn, raising concerns about the unfolding power struggle.
Obasa, who was removed from office on January 13, 2025, is now poised to make a dramatic return to his former position following high-level interventions by key figures within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
